Darling Downs Gamers' Club April 40K Meet

Action from the weekend at the Local Gaming Establishment (Battlestation Toowoomba).

We had a large turnout of 11 players across a broad selection of army types. The day consisted of an 1850pt tournament over 3 games. The final result was 1st place: Paris (with Chaos Marines), 2nd place: Joe and 3rd place: Stacey (with Tyranids).

During the day I faced Dark Eldar first up. I was served up a large beast pack and lots of Star Wars looking barge thingies, which resulted in a handy loss. Secondly I played Orks. After a first turn of dismal shooting where I couldn’t hit the side of a barn, I ended up blowing up at least 5 Trukks and a Battle Wagon over the next 3 turns for the win. And lastly I faced Paris’s Chaos Marines. Unfortunately It came down to his lone warlord in my back field on 1 wound after the terminators he deep struck in with where eliminated by plasma from my blob. And the end result? His warlord survived to clear off my 4 point objective ending in a loss by my Guard by 1 point. Well played Paris, well Played.

By the way check out the new club website Here and the new Forum Here

That’s all until next month, where I get to take the new Guard for a spin.

Darling Downs Gamers' Club March 40K Meet

Every 1st Saturday of the month The Darling Downs Gamers' Club hold a club 40K tournament down at Battle Station Toowoomba. Variable point 3 round tournament using some form of comp. At the moment we are using the new Melbourne Comp system that is floating around the scene. Always a great day playing in a relaxed atmosphere at a friendly local gaming store. If you're in the area come on down or better yet hit up the Facebook page or d.d.gamers@hotmail.com for more information.

This month was a little on the quite side with only 4 players, including myself, turning up tho sling dice at one another.

We had Joe with the Khorne Daemon Army in one corner, Tim with Khorne/Nurgle Daemons in the another, Darren with a hefty Ork presence lingering around and my poor out matched Imperial Guard forces. Needless to say that both Daemon lists trounced me with fast moving Flesh Hounds of Khorne. I stood a fair chance against the Orks and narrowly carve out a win placing me in Third place for the day.

Orks and Guard, let’s see how long this battle plays out?

The two Deamon armies go head to head.

Orks prepare to swam over my Guard defences.

The Great Unclean One eyes off my poor Chimera.

Deamons...

Deamons...

And more Deamons!

Don’t forget a healthy splattering of 40k Khorne dogs.

Or this fiery demonic creature.
