The Demise of Rankings HQ

I’ve just received and email from Andrew Gales that Rankings HQ will be shutting down as of Friday (28th February). This is a sad day for all tournament organisers across the world that uses his services.

What does it mean for players? Unfortunately this means that uniformed rankings across the globe may not be as easy as it once was. But never fear, over the last 19 months in the hobby, I have notice an increase of such services across Australia and also around the world. In my local area alone there is Titans of War and globally I’ve heard on numerous popular podcasts mention the growing popularity, especially in US, of Torrent of Fire.

It is sad to see Rankings HQ leave us as it wasn’t just used by 40k players or even table top war gamers, never fear is some form the vacuumed left by Andrew’s website will be filled and in some ways it already has. You will be ranked, from now until well into the 41st Millennium.

Update: It appears in his email that Andrew sighted financial reasons for the closure of the Rankings HQ website. This comes in the wake of an email sent out on Monday the 10th of February asking for donations to assist Andrew in augmenting the running costs of the website. It appears that not enough of the gaming community could afford to support Andrew in his endeavour to keep the doors open, so to speak, of Rankings HQ. I guess we are all spending our money on Imperial Knights.
